  17. CONVERSION FOR NEXTSTEP

  20. WEST CHESTER, Ohio, December 5, 1994 -- Flying Monkey Software
  21. announces ColorInspector, a Text Service application for NEXTSTEP
  22. which provides translation of color coordinates between NeXT and
  23. PostScript.

  25. Earlier this year, when we were putting together Color Suite 1, our
  26. set of color applications for NEXTSTEP, our old pal Jon Hendry asked
  27. for a color coordinate converter; he'd been doing a bunch of
  28. PostScript generation and was tired of all the division. Lately, we've
  29. run into the same problem, and so picked up the work we'd started at
  30. the end of the summer. ColorInspector is the result.

  32. Basically it's a color well and four text fields. You drag a color in,
  33. it updates the NeXT and PostScript RGB and HSB values in the fields.
  34. You change a value in a field and the color well and other fields are
  35. updated. Dragging the color out of the color well and cutting and
  36. pasting from the text fields is all there, of course. Simple and easy.

  38. And when you stick it in your Apps directory, it becomes a Service.
  39. Select some color coordinates and click in the ColorInspector entries
  40. under the Services menu, and you have in-place color coordinate
  41. conversion. There's also an API for those share-the-code type
  42. developers.
